Editorial Standards

Farsçadan selects, translates and publishes stories according to the following principles.

1. Impartiality

We report stories as they are; we do not take sides or add opinion. We follow outlets of different orientations in a balanced way, and when the same event is reported differently, we show that difference in the “How the Persian press covered it” section.

2. Orientation labels

Every story labels the outlet's orientation (for example state, semi-official, conservative, reformist, economic, or diaspora opposition). The label describes the outlet's general editorial line; it is not a judgment on the accuracy of the story.

3. Unverified claims

Claims that cannot be independently verified are clearly marked with phrases such as “allegedly” or “according to the outlet.” Where outlets differ on figures or on the sequence of events, we say so.

4. Summary translation

We do not republish the full source text. We convey the substance of each story in a faithful summary translation and always link to the original. Responsibility for the reporting lies with the original outlet.

5. AI and human oversight

Translations are produced with AI and published under the byline “AI Agent.” Source selection, standards and corrections are subject to human editorial oversight.

6. Images

We use only freely licensed images (public domain, CC0, CC BY, CC BY-SA). Every image carries a credit with the author, license and a link to the source. We do not use photographs from the Iranian press.

7. Corrections

Errors can be reported through our Contact page. Verified errors are corrected; corrections that change the meaning of a story are noted at the end of the story.
